Back in 2004 i built a full computer with a 12.1″ industrial grade touch screen into a 1987 300D Mercedes. The biggest challenge was making all the components run on 12Vdc natively. No inverters were used to run the computer system. For some of the components, i had to make a power supply from scratch to accommodate the video link transmitter board. A friend of mine from Opus Solutions helped me with one of the power supply boards for the video link receiver. There were several components i had to build one of which was building the mount for the video monitor. Click here to see the end result and watch the video.
